Story
My brother Bruce was attending a conference is Las Vegas in 2003, and I knew there were extensive bristlecone pine woodlands in the Spring Mountains. We arranged a two-day backpacking trip through the bristlecones. The morning of day two, I woke up early and saw large tree crowns downslope. I wandered down there and kept finding increasingly giant trees. I went back upslope to get my brother, and we returned to measure the largest tree.
